In which I rant about FE13 and I'm pretty sure nobody really cares

To be honest, my first reaction was "this art style is not good :|", but after watching the trailers and reading up on it, my opinion turned into "the gameplay looks fun and the 3D battles are cute and the music is nice but this art style is not good :|" I mean, it's basically a generic anime art style using the most bland color palette ever, not to mention that Liz's hair makes zero sense and I will whine forever about this ok

I've written a post on tumblr with a bunch of info here, for the curious (so you won't have to wade through Serenes Forest and GameFAQs for information, yay!) - I'll copypaste it, because it seems convenient:

• Here is the main site! There is also some more information here.
• The main blue-haired guy’s name is Krom (or Chrome, or something like that!)
• A character named Frederic - a Paladin - is rumored to be the game’s
  Jeigan, apparently because of his relatively high base stats.
• Cut-ins are probably used for critical hits? :D
• Krom uses a weapon called “Sealing Sword Falchion” (what even)
• There is a world map
• Certain enemies appear to be undead/zombie-like. “Corpse Soldiers”. (… This game gives me some rather Magvel-ish vibes)
• Krom seems to comment on his level-up (“I’ve become even stronger!”) omg if they made the characters react to them and whine when they got zero-stat level-ups, it could be potentially hilarious
• The girl with the weird pigtails is called Liz, and she has a staff - so she’s most likely a cleric of some kind
• Krom has Astra, so there are skills.
• The story appears to be about “the prince of the kingdom of Iris and his friends”. It seems likely for Krom to be the
  aforementioned prince or at the very least a royal of some sort, as Sumia refers to him in a very polite manner.
• As has already been mentioned by everyone else, there are unison attacks, in which two characters can attack an
  enemy together.
• Liz is Krom’s sister.

The GameFAQs board has pretty much nothing of interest on it at all, by the way, to nobody's surprise lol. Unless you count this, which is totally canon gaiz!!!
Also, can I just point out that Liz is Krom's sister (I'm apparently the only person who noticed this in the trailers which is kind of surprising!) and therefore rather unlikely to be the love interest (yes, I know it's FE, but uh. no.)? I am a little worried that they'll end up essentially being Ike and Mist expies - well, except that Krom is probably going to be a prince and, by extension, Liz might be some sort of princess. Also, I really hope IS isn't making the new lord really similar to Ike because they want Krom to replace him in SSB4, because... that's the first thing that comes to mind! ;_; I am so pessimistic lately why

I mostly like that everything is brighter again; FE11 was so dark and dirty. >:(
But the costume design of the new game is ridiculous. Do not like. But honestly, I'm pretty much meh about this new game. Though hypes normally never get me anyway XD Oh well, abwarten und Tee trinken~

But FE13 has such bland color schemes! I think I preferred the dirtiness of FE11-12. At least there was some variety in the color palette. :<

I thought I was going to be really hyped for this game since, well, it's technically still Fire Emblem, but apparently... I can't bring myself to care for it, either. So I'm "meh" on it so far, too. :'D I-is that German? :o

Really? I can only recall grey, blue, grey, purple, grey, reddish grey, brownish grey and other grey variants in FE11. I found it so fugly it's not funny anymore

Actually, I'd say the characters from FE11-12 definitely had nicer, more varied color palettes than FE13, in spite of looking kind of... muddy? Ish. I even made a color palette comparison chart thingy (http://i56.tinypic.com/o0qk5u.png), because wasting time on this kind of stuff is fun! :D

Hm, I see that they have a wider variaty of colour and yet they still manage to look more colourless than the other ones. Hm.
Pretty colour palette 8D I really like some of Minerva´s reds.

"To wait and see", leo.org tells me. The German variant is much better though; translated literally it's "to wait and drink tea". 8D

I'm kinda curious to see where it goes tbh. I'm not holding my hopes up, though, 'cause that usually gets me nowhere. LOL

I don't like Liz already. It's the hair-- wtf is with that. I can deal with the art style, with the weird costumes (I think SOME change is kinda nice), but that funky hair with that thing on her head just...does not do it.

Frederic is bad.ass. With that name. I'm ok with this.

I think it's probably too early to hope for anything, haha. But Liz. Yes, her hair. What is even going on with it :| I can get pigtails - Serra's design looks fine to me, for example - but Liz's hair is just plain silly-looking. In a bad way.

I'd love it if Kita Senri were to do the character designs for the entire series, so I guess I'm not much for change, myself! orz (Or the artist from FE7. Or FE8. They were all amazing!)
