soft kitty warm kitty little ball of fur
Jul. 31st, 2011 10:29 pm(Apologies for the title, kitties have almost nothing to do with this post. The Big Bang Theory does though!)
I wrote most of this entry close to a week ago, but LJ wouldn't let me post for several days, and after that there was the whole DDOS issue, plus me getting ready for taking the ship back to Sweden so that is basically my reason for not posting in forever. Sorry about that!
1)

FE/Ace Attorney crossover-ish fan art with Heather as Klavier and Fiona as Apollo because the idea amused me and I had to draw it! :D Actually Heather being Klavier still totally makes sense. Also, if I ever start shipping Klavier/Apollo, I'll blame the fan art I've seen on my tumblr dashboard
Since I'm on the topic of an FE/AA crossover, may I just add that I've noticed that Lucia and Franziska both have short blue-ish hair, and that randomly made me imagine Lucia with a whip, which is very amusing to me for some reason. :'D
2) This rant is kind of long overdue because I've spent the past few weeks watching The Big Bang Theory, and I'm done with the third season and I kind of love it ♥ I still relate to Sheldon the most, because I share his dislike of seeing people argue, his arachnophobia and am also terrible at Mario Kart. (Apparently my friend says she relates more to Penny, though, which is probably not so surprising.) But I definitely have Penny's knowledge of physics!i even failed my physics class bawww
I love Penny and Sheldon's relationship, though. It's probably my favorite part of the show, aside from the geeky nerd humor which appeals to me for pretty obvious reasons. She's almost like his older sister, in a sense. Or maybe his mother? Whatever it is, it's absolutely adorable! And Sheldon's childishness - which is easiest to notice in his bonding scenes with Penny - is a very endearing part of his character, imo (it is also the reason I laughed when I saw that the BBT wikia had him listed as the show's "antagonist" because somehow I just can't see it, lol). Although the fact that he's a genius with the people skills of a 6-year-old also means I kind of feel bad when the rest of the cast make fun of him
I mean, it's like stealing candy from a very smug and pretentious little genius kid. :'(
... oh, and re: the subject of this post, my grandma used to sing the Polish version of Soft Kitty to me when I was younger, so I pretty much bawled in all scenes which involved Penny singing that song/lullaby/whatever it is to Sheldon ;_;
Also, can I just say that I think Bernadette is incredibly cute~ Her somewhat monotonous voice, blonde hair and blunt, head-in-the-clouds personality almost reminds me of Luna for some reason but I don't know why I just compared The Big Bang Theory to Harry Potter. What even. :| I don't know where her relationship with Howard is going, though, or if she'll even return again but I hope she will? I'm actually surprised he found a girlfriend, since the show kept hinting at Howard/Rajeesh. That was some painfully obvious subtext
3) I'd been wanting to watch - or well, sort of rewatch - Hetalia for a while because a) the idea of anthropomorphic countries still seems really cute to me, b) I want to know how they'll portray Sweden and Poland and c) it involves two Japanese voice actors I like a lot (this is how I decide which animes I watch), so I watched the first season and my reactions were mostly this:
In a sense Hetalia is sort of similar to Homestuck to me, in that they both have massive fandoms that make me get really curious about them but then when I try them out, I just end up feeling really confused. Though in Hetalia's case, it's more because of the pacing than anything else, I think. Maybe I should try the manga, but I'm not sure.

- The five minute episodes are super confusing, and the limited amount of time for each episode kind of means that the pacing is way too fast for me
- Can not unsee France = Zelos because of their voice actor lol ;A;
- America is kind of cute.
- why does England have so many eyebrows
- why are almost all of the countries male? Maybe there is no reason, but I'm still curious, so.
- The ending song is the best. It's so cute and catchy!
- I'm too dense for the humor in this series and I have no idea what is going on

I think in the beginning they were mostly male because Hidekaz was still mostly a beginner and wasn't so good with drawing females, but I may be wrong. He's getting better though and Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Liechtenstein and Fillipines are females (I'm not sure if that's all) And Hidekaz drew official genderbend versions~
It's mostly about stupid and hilarious stereotypes. I have to admit that I didn't know most of the stereotypes. It probably always depends on which country you come from; stereotypes of other nations are not the same in every country.

Date: 2011-08-03 12:15 pm (UTC)Ah, so that's why most of them are males. It's nice to know there's a reason, at least~ I guess you can kind of tell he's a bit of a beginner artist. (... mostly by the character design, I think. Sometimes it's a little hard for me to tell the characters apart. ;A;)
I know very little about sterotypes. xD I certainly haven't heard of Italians being pasta-obsessed and silly before? I'm not sure if Hetalia is even my thing, but I think I'll keep watching until Sweden and Poland are introduced. I'm just too curious.

Date: 2011-08-03 12:22 pm (UTC)Poland is funny. In a crossdressing, pony-loving way XD
I only knew Italians as flirty, lazy and gesturing much when talking.
