Day 29: Favorite OST/Song/Remix
Okay, so I have a secret. Sort of. I'm a complete video game music nerd. So it would only follow that I could, potentially, write a wall of text about FE music - but, actually, I'm going to try not doing that for once!

I've already mentioned it before, but my favorite map theme is a tie between Eternal Bond and Light and Dark (I actually slightly prefer Side Battle because I love orchestrated music, so um, I'm going to link that), and The Devoted is my favorite normal attack theme (it really almost sounds like it should be a boss theme. Maybe that's why I like it so much).

Speaking of boss themes, my absolute favorite is probably Against the Dark Knight, but I also really like The Prince's Despair and Dark Emperor and Softly With Grace and Stalking Menace and I'm just going to stop here

Also, event music! I think some of the event music in FE is really pretty, so it's a little sad to see so few people talk about it, but um, having said that... my favorites would probably be Memory of Mom and Father's Back. And To My Love. lol why are they all so sad they always make me cry ;_; (and how come they're all from FE9 anyway)

So I'm kind of already starting to rant here. Uh, I'll just move on to the next question then.

Day 30: Why Do YOU Love Fire Emblem

• Huge, varied casts of characters.
• No bland generic units - all characters are unique.
• Supports/info conversations. Really, I love supports. Inter-party banter is pretty much my favorite thing about RPGs.
• The pretty character designs. Uhm, that might sound a bit shallow, but I do think a lot of the characters are gorgeous while also, thankfully, avoiding the tired cliche of being scantily-clad video game girls with huge breasts and no armor. (Actually, a surprisingly large amount of FE characters wear armor. I approve!)
• ... this one's a little hard to explain, but I've always thought that FE's dialogue sounded kind of... sincere? And a lot of it very subtly subverts the expectations I have from playing many other RPGs, which I also like.
• The humor. (i just get depressed when I try to play games which take themselves overly seriously. Also this is why I could never really get into Final Fantasy or certain SMT games)
• The mathchessy gameplay
• Softresetting for better level-ups so that you can eventually get lots of units with shiny green stats
• That giddy feeling you get when you're actually good at a game most people think is really hard (I find FE games pretty easy. What. I think I'm just weird)
• The fandom! ♥ It's really quite nice, most of the time. I mean, the small size of it makes it hard for a socially incompetent person like me to break into it, but uhm. It's still sort of fun to stalk people? :)
